Otherwise you will have no sample-based instruments until you get the libraries. Just direct to where your Waves sample libraries are stored. Hopefully you have them installed on an external drive somewhere (like I do). If you chose to install any Waves instruments that require a sample library, it will ask for the location of said library(s). If presented with that problem, continue to reopen Logic Pro X and allow it to scan until complete. Other AUs that I have were interfering with the scan process for some reason, so I can’t say for certain if the crashes were a result of the Waves plugins or something else. With me, Waves DeEsser came back as an error. BEWARE some plugins might come up as an error. Logic will scan AUs without asking for a license.
Open Logic Pro X - Here’s where it gets tricky. Go to Waves.Complete.2018.11.04.OSX folder (the ‘cracked’ version), unzip if you haven’t already. High Sierra gave me a message about the utilities not being optimized or something. Run ALL AU Reg Utilities located in ‘Waveshells V10’ folder in Applications. If presented with this issue, login to Waves Central, and immediately cut Internet access to it. For me, Waves Central wouldn’t allow me to open it without logging in first. Move ‘Installers’ folder out of Central_Offline_latest_Mac and place on desktop.
If you have custom presets, back them up before you delete.
If you haven’t already, uninstall any previous installations of Waves. The version I used is the version of Waves v10 after the release of the ARTG strip but prior to the release of ‘Sibilance’ (Waves - 8.11.18). It does not contain any sample libraries. This comes with the latest version of Waves Central and offline installer folder in the same listing as the cracked version. Downloaded Central_Offline_latest_Mac from the Waves website. I hope you understand and follow these instructions, they are very detailed. I’m just a regular broke ass musician like most people. So I decided to try everything all at once.
There are a number of fixes floating around. Either version showed up in the plugin manager at all. To keep my sob story short, I did not uninstall v9 prior to installing v10. I was using Waves v9 until the release of the ARTG mastering strip. I had a plethora of issues with the installation of the Waves v10 crack.
